Minecraft Game Show Awards 2017

CHALKY

Which show are you competing with?

1. I am competing with Tribal Wars, specifically my latest season, Frontier

What is your shows best feature?

2. My show’s best feature is probably the challenges. I feel they’re unique and well thought out, to the point that even the blandest challenges end up as games that are exciting to watch and play (case and point, Hoedown Showdown).

What is your shows weakest in?

3. I feel that the weakest element of my show is the editing or possibly the building as, although I follow a general episode format (short clip, intro, challenge introduction, challenge explanation, challenge, outro) the episodes often vary in feeling depending on the challenge, in a way that feels somewhat disjointed. Relating to the building I feel some of my challenges leave more to be desired in terms of background set, especially games like Hoedown Showdown and Blackjack.

I have been improving over time in the aspects though, and I definitely feel that next season will be memorable, if not for an improvement in editing, then definitely due to an improvement in building that is sure to impress.

From the other showrunners which show do you think has the best chance of getting something, which award and why?

4. I personally believe the show with the highest chance of winning an award is Minecraft Survivor: Tagata Toe Ola. Also I think this as Tagata was an extremely well executed show, filmed over almost half a year with a fantastic cast, excellent editing and a great concept and design throughout.

Although I am slightly biased due to being a cast member on the show myself, but I’m cast on most showrunners shows at some point and I can outright say this was the most professional and highest quality show I have seen or been a part of to date. It deserves multiple awards and I personally will be very shocked if it doesn’t receive any.

What are your expectations towards this years MCGSA?

5. In this year’s MCGSA anything could happen. There’s lots of new competing game shows this year when compared to the few that were in last year’s show so I wouldn’t be surprised to see some new award winners out there – just praying I win something!

RASA Studios

Which show are you competing with?

1. I am competing with The Noxsquad Gameshow episode 4 stream

What is your shows best feature?

2. The show’s best feature is probably the building and games that come with that. I feel like the team did very well in creating the factory and all the extras that waited inside. The games were also nicely build and each one had its own unique twist to them.

What is your shows weakest in?

3. I feel that the weakest element of the show was the overlooked problems with audio and live problems that occurred. I feel like if we double checked and triple checked everything right before the show as it would have been more likely we caught the problem before going live.

From the other showrunners which show do you think has the best chance of getting something, which award and why?

4. I think the show with the high chance of winning an award is The Show Of Millionaires: Heroes VS Villains. I personally loved watching it and made me laugh multiple times throughout. Also feel like the cast was great, the editing was amazing and I don’t think it could be any better!

What are your expectations towards this years MCGSA?

5. I Believe this year will be a lot more interesting as I think we have a lot of high quality shows this year so I think it will be stiff competition in all tiers.

INFERNOX

Which show are you competing with?

1. I am going to be competing with Face-Off 2: Second Chance.

What is your shows best feature?

2. One of Face-Off’s best features would have to be the show’s ability to be completely customizable. The challenges each episode are not determined by me, but the players themselves. Even the players vote on who will compete in the challenge, rather than it already being predetermined.
3. Face-Off is weak in terms of the challenges at times. There have been challenges that have really challenged a concept, but sometimes there are challenges that become either too long or difficult to follow and understand.

From the other showrunners which show do you think has the best chance of getting something, which award and why?

4. I believe Survivor: Tagata Toe Ola has a good shot at receiving an award. The amount of work that went into the project and the end result are really something to marvel at. Another show that I believe has a good shot at receiving an award is Luigi’s Show of Millionaires: Heroes vs Villains. The challenges in the show were extremely clever and made it very enjoyable to watch.

What are your expectations towards this years MCGSA?

5. I believe that this years MCGSA will be unpredictable. There are a lot more contenders and a lot of content that I believe is deserving of winning an award. It should be very exciting.

LUIGISPANISH

Which show are you competing with?

1. This year I’ll be competing with my latest game show: The Show Of Millionaires: Heroes VS Villains. The All Star cast the fans had previously chosen to compete by voting for their favourites.

What is your shows best feature?

2. I feel like my shows best feature would have to be the unique atmosphere of a comedic environment with a combination of competition and excitement to keep the show interesting each year. These two combinations allow the viewer to laugh along with the contestants throughout each episode whilst also rooting for their favourites to win. I feel like the overall silliness of the show’s theme contributes to this. The viewer’s being able to vote for their favourite players to return to play make the season even more enjoyable for their own viewing experience.

What is your shows weakest in?

3. If I were to pick out something weak about my show it would have to be people misinterpreting the humorous environment as unprofessional. Comedy can be really subjective and I occasionally worry not everyone will understand a reference or joke I throw at the audience, with an all-star season you’d expect the viewer to had already watched the previous seasons but for those who hadn’t they may find some difficulty understanding the jokes. I hope those circumstances don’t turn anyone away from watching the show.

From the other showrunners which show do you think has the best chance of getting something, which award and why?

4. I believe Billybae10k’s Minecraft Survivor: Tagata Toe Ola has the highest chance of receiving an award this year. From my own experience playing the show the whole way through you could really tell the entire production team put their heart and souls into the project and I feel having a positive attitude towards the creation of these shows will for sure strive for the viewers to enjoy the show extensively.

What are your expectations towards this years MCGSA?

5. I hope that by the end of the day despite who wins whatever award, we’re all here to have an enjoyable fun time celebrating our hobbies and entertainment and I think it’s important for any upcoming or current show creator to stay positive throughout the awards tomorrow and show praise and congratulations towards any winners. I didn’t create SOM: Heroes VS Villains with the intention of winning any sort of award so any award I may potentially receive I’ll be extremely thankful for. – Luigispanish – Host of The Show Of Millionaires.

BILLYBO10K

Which show are you competing with?

1 – I am competing with three shows, however the one I’m really hoping does well is Minecraft Survivor: Tagata Toe Ola, a recreation of CBS’s hit reality show in Minecraft. My other shows are Minecraft Raven, a recreation of the British children’s gameshow of the same name, and the Mini Show, which is basically a satirical fun show based around the concept of whatever I want.

What is your shows best feature?

2 – The strongest feature of my main show, Minecraft Survivor, is the cast and editing. We picked a dynamic and interesting set of personalities, ranging from quiet to crazy and everything inbetween. Seeing them interact with each other and seeing their strategies unfold is entertaining and with the intense amount of editing that goes into each of the show’s 11 episodes, you’re guarenteed to have a good time.

What is your shows weakest in?

3 – Tagata’s worst feature comes from the camerawork and the fact that some challenges were hit and some were miss (Kinda like the actual TV Show). This was my first project using multiple camera angles and we didn’t really account for camera quality so many of the cameras look drastically different. It can be quite jarring, but it’s something that we aim to fix for future shows and shouldn’t detract from the overlying narrative itself.

From the other showrunners which show do you think has the best chance of getting something, which award and why?

4 – Can I say all of them? Can everyone get an award? No… Damn. Well, I have to be picky here and I’ll say that Show of Millionaires, Heroes vs Villains, by LuigiSpanish is certainly a contender. The editing is on point, the show was entertaining to watch and it’s builds were well designed.

Tribal Wars Frontier is also up there as a contender due to it’s sheer boost in quality compared to previous installments. Everything works and the show’s theme and challenges are all built/play very well.

And since I haven’t mentioned any streamed work, RASA Studio’s Noxsquad Gameshow is, by far, the most technically advanced streamed show around. If it doesn’t win an award, I will be absolutely shooketh.

What are your expectations towards this years MCGSA?

5 – MCGSA can only go up. The first awards were a trial run, a test to see if the format could work. Now the format is refined and there’s so much more variety this year. Anything could happen and I’ve decided not to focus on the awards, but the event itself, as I felt last year I was a little disconnected from the event.
